Ellie Marchand, the guide's host

An invented host for the route in
Ellie Marchand is a character created for this guide, an invented host rather than a real writer. She presents the way in to Thunder Bay as a string of stops on highways 11 and 17. Each stop comes with its straight line to the casino door. The last stop is the door itself: the hours, the lot and the floor.
Her pictures are AI-generated images, not photographs of a real person. She is not casino staff, and she has no connection with Gateway Casinos or OLG. The site takes no bets and has no accounts, and it is not the casino's website.
Measuring the stops
Stops are towns and hamlets that OpenStreetMap places on or near highways 11 and 17, picked along each of the four ways in. A stop counts as on the highway when the mapped road passes within 1 km of it. When it does not, the guide says how far off it lies, measured to the town centre. Wawa, for example, lies 2 km off Highway 17, and Marathon 3.3 km. Every distance is a straight line between map coordinates.
Roads bend, so the distance driven is longer, and the guide gives no driving times. Casino facts were checked against the casino's own pages, and Ontario rules against the province's official pages. All of it was checked on October 14, 2026. Times on the site are Thunder Bay time, Eastern time (America/Toronto).
Commission, links and what the site keeps
Paid links appear only on the home page, each marked Ad. They open a private online casino partner that the guide does not name, and that partner can change. The guide earns a commission from those links and does not stand behind the partner. Any online casino should be looked up in the iGaming Ontario directory first. Links to the casino, OLG, the province and help lines are never paid.
The site has no forms and no accounts. Only the light or dark theme choice is kept, in the browser tab.
